Hayley Alexander, BHK, MPT

Registered Physiotherapist - Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy, Chronic Pain, Clinical Pilates, IMS (she/her)

Hayley’s approach is to empower each person to take control of their own health and wellness. She starts by listening to their story and works with them to create an individual treatment plan while ensuring they feel comfortable and confident. She is passionate about helping folks get back to activities that they love and finding joy in moving their bodies in whatever way is meaningful to them.

Hayley’s love of movement started from a young age. Growing up she enjoyed competitive figure skating and recreational dance as a child and teenager. Her passion for health and fitness drove her to complete a Bachelors Degree in Human Kinetics at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Hayley was active in the sport and fitness industry throughout her twenties, working both as a fitness instructor and sport programmer. Hayley completed her Masters Degree in Physical Therapy at UBC in 2014.

Hayley’s practice as a physiotherapist has evolved over the years. Currently, her main interests are pelvic health and helping folks with persistent/chronic pain. Hayley loves working with pre and postnatal clients to support and empower them to feel good in their bodies throughout pregnancy, postpartum and beyond. Hayley is a mom of two and has experienced pelvic health issues herself. Her children were born in 2021 and 2023 and her postpartum journey has been focused on confidently returning to physical activities that she loves and leading an active lifestyle with her family.

Hayley is passionate about continuing education and providing care based on the current evidence. A list of her relevant postgraduate education can be found below. Hayley assesses and treats the whole body (not just the pelvis). She treats all areas of pelvic health and people of all genders. Exercise and education are the foundation of her treatment with each person. She also uses manual therapy and functional dry needling where appropriate. She treats using a biopsychosocial model of care and through a trauma informed lens.

Outside of work you can find Hayley exploring trails and parks with her family or trail running with her friends. Prior to the pandemic (and before she had kids), she spent most of her free time travelling and triathlon training. She is still an adventurer at heart but her life moves a little slower these days and she appreciates simple pleasures like good coffee.
