Massage therapy is an increasingly popular health care option across Canada. Massage therapy treatment involves the manipulation of soft tissue, such as muscles and fascia, with the goal of decreasing pain and restoring mobility.
Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) in Canada have graduated from an accredited college and have passed a rigorous competency exam. You can often claim services offered by an RMT on your extended benefit plan. You do not need a doctor’s referral to book an appointment with an RMT.
Common conditions treated include:
Postural pain
Muscular over-use injuries
Low back pain
Neck and shoulder pain
Post-partum and pregnancy related conditions
Nerve impingement syndromes
Sprains and strains
Headaches
Bursitis

What should I expect during my appointment?
Please arrive a few minutes early in order to fill out paperwork.
Your RMT will ask you some questions about the discomfort you are experiencing and formulate a treatment plan. Your RMT will allow you change and then return to the room to provide treatment. If you are pregnant, we have a pregnancy massage pillow for your use, allowing to you lie face down.
Once the massage is completed, your RMT may suggest some stretches or exercises for you to do at home.
