What should I expect during my first appointment?

You are invited to schedule a free 30-minute consultation with Heather to see if the two of you are a "good fit". Therapeutic alliance is one of the greatest predictors of success in a counselling relationship, and during the consultation, you'll converse briefly and gently about what brings you to counselling, and you are welcome to ask Heather any questions you may have about her approach.

Following a successful consultation, your first appointment will be mostly about you and Heather building a trusting relationship and collaborating on what your goals and needs are. This will guide things like the frequency of your appointments, the focus, and the treatment modalities you and Heather will be using.

All appointments will be online, also known as “telehealth”. We use Jane for all online appointments. For more information on how telehealth works, click here.

Please note that Heather treats adults and does not work with children or teens.

We offer direct billing to Pacific Blue Cross.
